Sheffield Futures, which runs the local Connexions careers service, is currently consulting staff with a view to making up to 95 of the 370-strong workforce redundant.
The charity is being forced to find around £700,000 in savings after the council slashed its budget by a quarter.
"The full impact of the cuts to our services is yet to be finalised. We are working in consultation with staff and union representatives," said a spokeswoman for Sheffield Futures. "We continue to fulfil our commitment to providing a quality service to young people and adults in Sheffield."
The charity runs a number of projects in the area designed to encourage personal and social development among young people, as well as offering them careers advice and guidance.
