
The investigations into the Heworth House and Little Joe's nurseries do not involve allegations of sexual abuse and the nurseries have remained open while investigations are ongoing.
But parents have voiced concern about the lack of information available to them on the nature of the inquiry.
In response to the concerns, Joe Cocker, manager of the City of York Safeguarding Children Board, said: "As a parent, I do appreciate the anxieties parents with children at the nurseries have. However, with my professional background I am also aware of the considerable risks to compromising a sensitive investigation that could result from placing too much information in the public arena."
