Relationship and sexuality lessons to be compulsory in Wales from age five

Relationship and sexuality education is to become compulsory in all schools in Wales from the age of five, it has been announced.

Following a review of sex education by the Welsh government it has been announced that relationship and sexuality education (RSE) is to be a statutory part of the school curriculum from 2022 for five- to 16-year-olds.

In a statement the Welsh government said that for some schools this "doesn't stretch beyond the biological aspects of human relationships".
