Queen’s Speech: Sector responds to measures announced for children and young people

Measures announced in the Queen’s Speech to improve education and help families to cope with the cost of living crisis “must go further” to support the most vulnerable children and young people, sector leaders have said.

Prince Charles, who was standing in for the Queen due to issues with her mobility, today (10 May) announced the introduction of the Schools Bill in parliament which aims to “help every child fulfil their potential wherever they live”.

The Prince of Wales, who was accompanied by the Duke of Cambridge and Duchess of Cornwall also shared ministers’ pledge to “grow and strengthen the economy and help ease the cost of living for families”.
