The campaign, which is called I'm Not With Stupid, has a Facebook page featuring animation involving characters such as Josh who ignore the consequences of the antisocial acts they commit such as throwing eggs at people's houses.
The focus of the page is on promoting respect for communities and youth activities taking place in the area.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "There is an increase in activity during the bonfire night and Halloween period and we thought it would be more beneficial to target young people directly with this type of campaign to promote respect rather than just issuing press releases to the local paper."
