Through the pilot regional adoption agencies will work with education and health providers as well as integrated care boards to look at ways to improve access to support for children and families.

The two-year pilot scheme is being led by regional adoption agency body Adoption England and funded by the Department for Education.

Adoption England says action is needed to bring together professionals from a range of sectors as the specific needs of adopted children can often be “complex and multifaceted due to the early adversity, trauma and loss they may have experienced”.
