Panel seeks views on family justice system

1 min read Social Care
A call for evidence has been launched to shape a review into the family justice system.

The Family Justice Review Panel wants anyone with an interest in the family justice system to put forward their views on how it can work better in the future.

The review, announced by government in the coalition agreement, will look at how to improve use of mediation and provide better access rights to non-resident parents and grandparents.

The government today announced that the chair of the Local Government Association’s Children and Young People Board, Baroness Richie of Brompton, will join the panel of experts leading the review.

The call for evidence is seeking views on key areas of the family justice system, including how to have a more user-friendly and child-focused system, the best methods of resolving family disputes using alternatives to the legal process, and how the system is governed, managed and funded.
