
The 15 hubs will bring together experts on common symptoms such as respiratory problems and fatigue who can directly treat children and young people, advise GPs or community nurses and make referrals to specialist services and clinics.
Specialist teams placed in hubs will include paediatricians, physiotherapists, nurses and occupational therapists.
The proposals are part of a £100m expansion of services for people suffering long-term effects of the virus.
Data from the Office for National Statistics has shown that 7.4 per cent of children aged two to 11 and 8.2 per cent of those aged 12 to 16 report continued symptoms.
