The proposals, which are being developed by Great Minds Together, will be reviewed by members of the education select committee amid concerns of a lack of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), or social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
Great Minds Together, which works with schools, families, local authorities and children’s services to provide intervention packages based on the needs of individual children, has previously conducted a 12-month trial of an "inspection and resolution service" across eight primary and secondary schools in Greater Manchester.
The organisation's founders Emma Mander and Meg Walls have already met members of the select committee to brief them on the work they have been doing and have been asked to develop a policy paper for the committee to consider as one of its first actions since its fresh formation last week following the general election in December.
