Delivered by UK Youth in partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, the personal money management programme will be a refreshed version of the banking group's Money for Life programme as part of its Helping Britain Prosper Plan.
?It will aim to help young people manage their money better by improving their knowledge, confidence and skills. ??
Between 2010 and 2015, Lloyds invested £10m into its Money for Life programme and now has committed to investing a further £3m over the next three years.
??UK Youth, in partnership with The Mix, a digital support service for under-25s, will develop the financial education programme in a bid to meet the changing financial needs of communities and to engage young people. ?
The programme is scheduled to launch in September this year. ??
Anna Smee, chief executive of UK Youth, said young people face a difficult transition towards independent living as they start to manage money and make financial decisions about their future.
“This exciting three-year partnership between UK Youth and Lloyds Banking Group will enable us to support young people across the UK to understand the importance of good money management,” she said.
??“By putting young people at the heart of the programme’s design and delivery, we will deliver inspiring off- and online activities to develop confidence and skills around financial management.”
?David Rowsell, head of the Money for Life programme at Lloyds Banking Group, added: “Through working with UK Youth and The Mix, we are confident that we will be able to make even more of a difference to the financial literacy of young people and communities across the UK.”
