Mixed results for DCSF in staff survey

1 min read
Less than half of people working at the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) believe the actions of senior civil servants are consistent with the department's values, a survey has revealed.

As part of a cross civil service attitude survey, the first to be conducted, staff at the DCSF were asked a range of questions on their work, management and the department in general.

Forty six per cent agreed said they believe the actions of senior civil servants were consistent with DCSF values, which includes the Every Child Matters agenda. Meanwhile, only 33 per cent said they felt changes made in the DCSF are usually for the better.

Another question found that less than half (46 per cent) feel it is safe to challenge the way things are done in the DCSF while 47 per cent feel poor performance is dealt with effectively in their team.
