- Prince's Trust centre aids unemployed

Youth unemployment remains unacceptably high, leaving thousands in real need of a lifeline (www.cypnow.co.uk, 14 July). Over the past year, youth unemployment has fallen by 140,000 to 817,000 and is returning towards pre-recession levels. But 18 per cent of 16- to 24-year-olds are still out of work, and four in 10 of them have been out of work for longer than six months.

The Prince's Trust is deepening its support in areas across the country with high rates of unemployment - in East London, Liverpool and Glasgow, for example. Last week, we celebrated the opening of our new delivery centre in Bristol - where 3,000 young people are still claiming jobseeker's allowance.
