Leicestershire extended services team launches website

Leicestershire County Council and Melton Borough Council are backing a website that aims to promote extended services in a rural community.

The site, www.belvoirmeltoninsight.co.uk, includes video clips offering advice and promoting activities as well as noticeboards for local people to post comments and informaiton on youth clubs, childcare, health and other services.

The site was set up by the Extended Services team in Melton and the Vale of Belvoir. Extended services co-ordinator Kevin Osborne said: "This site will be central to my work in this very rural community. We will engage families to ensure the site remains fresh, they will film their own clips and place pictures on the gallery."

He added: "I have a nominated person in every village who has their finger on the local pulse. This will ensure an efficient uploading of info at a local level as well as adding useful hyperlinks."
