Labour conference: Strategy to challenge gender stereotypes in careers

1 min read
The government's information, advice and guidance (IAG) strategy will attempt to break down gender stereotypes in careers, when it is launched this autumn.

Iain Wright, the minister for 14 to19 reform and apprenticeships, said the long-awaited strategy would be unveiled in late October or early November.

He indicated the strategy would try and open up careers to women that have traditionally been the territory of men, and vice versa. "Challenging stereotypes is a major thing I want to tackle in the IAG strategy. Providing role models across the genders is vital."
