Initiative looks to young people for ideas to tackle Britain's problems

Young people's opinions on the problems facing Britain are being gathered and turned into projects that attempt to effect positive change in neighbourhoods.

The scheme, launched by youth engagement agency Livity, is designed to collect the ideas of young people over a four-week process and then the best ideas will be explored with young people and eventually put into action.

Livity is calling on people aged 12 to 24 to offer their ideas of what needs to change across Britain, with the findings of the survey released early next year.

A spokesman for the agency said: "The image of Britain’s youth has been severally tarnished after outbreaks of social unrest. But there is now more interest than ever in harnessing the anger, angst and passion of today’s youth.
