Grant announced for centre of excellence

The government is looking for an organisation to develop a virtual centre of excellence for services for children and young people.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families has launched a bidding process for a grant intended to cover the running of the centre.

The Centre of Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People’s Services is intended to bring together information on the delivery of services.

It will look at local, regional and national models of working, and then seek to spread the best practice.

An expression of interest pack for anyone thinking of bidding for the grant will be available later this week, with applications to be submitted by 10 January.

The centre is intended to be up and running by July 2008.
