Governors to be trained to support SEN pupils

School governors are to receive legal training as part of government plans to improve support for children with special educational needs (SEN).

The training, designed to teach governors about their legal duties towards pupils with SEN, is part of a new government action plan drawn up in response to Brian Lamb's SEN inquiry.

The action plan also announces a review of local authority-run educational psychology services, plus £4m cash to fund advanced SEN teacher training through the Training and Development Agency for Schools.
