Josephine’s children came out as transgender just five months apart, one aged 16 and one aged 21, with neither one aware of the other’s situation.

As a parent, she struggled to cope with her mixed emotions during this time, and now wants to support other parents who are coming to terms with their children’s gender identities.

Her seven-part podcast series, Gloriously Unready, discusses Josephine’s emotional journey in-depth, including her initial shock and grief when her daughters came out, adjusting to their new identities, telling friends and family, and coming to terms with the possibility of medical intervention.

Speaking to CYP Now, Josephine shared her desire to help parents support themselves and their children and offered advice to parents who are adjusting to a child transitioning.
