The partnership, called We Care About Children, has also launched a campaign website where the advert and a list of those providers participating can be viewed in full.

The advert details the effect of funding pressures on nurseries, which have forced around 500 to close already this year, according to official Ofsted figures.

Closures in areas of deprivation are a particular concern raised by the campaign group.

These closures are “leaving thousands of children and their parents without appropriate or adequate facilities and it is devastating that the settings struggling the most are in the most deprived areas. It is already too late for many of those”, states the group’s newspaper advert.
