While the latest Ofsted report published yesterday, revealed that a high number of children are wrongly labelled as having SEN, the legal charity is warning that increasing numbers of children are being denied access to support.
The centre, which advises and represents hundreds of parents whose children have SEN each year, said it is not surprised there has been an increase in the number of children being identified as having educational needs in the past seven years, due to an increased public awareness of the issue.
But it is concerned that the Ofsted report hides the fact that those with the most severe SEN are not receiving proper assessment and support.
