CSE projects among those to benefit from £44m Big Lottery funding

1 min read
Projects designed to tackle child sexual exploitation (CSE) will benefit from close to £1m in Big Lottery Fund cash after the organisation unveiled details of grants totalling £44m.

In total, 133 organisations will benefit from Big Lottery Fund Reaching Community Grants, including projects to tackle CSE by Parents Against Child Sexual Exploitation (Pace) and The Children’s Society.

Pace has been handed £489,730 to develop its work across England supporting parents whose children are at risk or being sexually exploited by perpetrators outside the family.

The aim is to support parents to be better informed and more confident to give the right support to their children.

Additional volunteers will be recruited to offer parents emotional support, information and guidance.

Pace is also planning to develop a programme designed and run by parents who have been affected by CSE, including focus groups; an online forum; conferences and parent network days for sharing stories, reducing feelings of isolation and hearing from invited speakers.
