Social workers, nursery and teaching staff and specialist education professionals are among those included on the list, as well as those children classed as vulnerable.
This would cover children with safeguarding and welfare needs, including those on child in need plans and child protection plans, children in care, young carers, disabled children and those with education, health and care (EHC) plans.
The list covers critical workers across sectors such as health and social care, education and childcare, local and national government, food production and distribution and transport.
The new guidance issued to schools asks them to remain open to provide education and care for these groups of children and the children of key worker parents once millions of pupils are asked to stay at home from Monday.
