Following news that the college is to close initially emerging last week, today the chair of the organisation, Jo Cleary, revealed it will remain open for up to three months before shutting for good.
“It is with huge regret that I am formally announcing, following a meeting today of TCSW's board of trustees, that the college will close by the end of September,” she said.
Cleary said the period up until closure will be used for "transition".
“The board is determined to make sure that the legacy of TCSW is secured and retained,” she said.
“We are therefore making arrangements to make sure that there is a smooth and safe transition of our functions and resources.
“We will be making updates on the details of these arrangements as we have them.”
It is understood that financial problems caused by a failure to secure sufficient membership or government contracts are key factors in the demise of the college, just three years after it was set up.
