City Pitch funds youth-led community projects

1 min read Youth Work
Young people from youth clubs across London have taken part in a Dragon's Den-style bidding process to win financial backing for community projects.

Six groups presented their proposals to a panel at City Hall on Wednesday as part of City Pitch, a new initiative delivered in partnership by London Youth, the Mayor’s Fund for London and the Santander Foundation.

They were bidding for up to £700 each, which was made available by the Mayor’s Fund for London and the Santander Foundation for community projects led by youth groups in London.

Among those pitching their ideas at the event were young people from Dost, a centre for young refugees and migrants living in Newham. They wanted money to fund an intergenerational project to create links with residents at Manor Farm Care Home, also in Newham.
