The survey by Capita Children’s Services of children’s services professionals found that two-thirds were nervous about the quality of the information they were giving Ofsted inspectors due to the limited notice period.
Just under half said that it took longer than a day for data to be compiled and produced in an ad hoc report for inspectors. This included analysing trends among looked-after children.
Around a third felt that children’s social care was the council area most in need of better information gathering. Half of respondents said that improved data analysis would lead to better outcomes for children.
