
The coalition says that “children remain worryingly low on the political agenda in England” and their rights and views are “regularly overlooked”.
England is behind other parts of the UK in safeguarding children’s rights, the charities warn.
They are particularly concerned by an “anti-rights rhetoric” and plans to overhaul the Human Rights Act which presents “a grave and immediate threat to the rights of all children”.
The warning has come from a coalition of 97 charities, led by Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) in its report on the how the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is being implemented in England.
