The call for evidence has been launched by the charity Career Connect to gather views around the long-term impact of careers support.

In addition, the consultation will look at where there is a lack of knowledge of its impact and where further research is needed.

Young people’s ability to make career decisions and their long-term outcomes are among issues to be covered.

The impact of careers guidance on vulnerable groups of young people, including those most at risk of poor grades at school, will also be looked at.

Representatives from careers guidance services, councils, commissioners, policy makers and university researchers are among those the charity hopes will take part in the consultation, which closes on 5 April.
