The Skill Mill’s Social Impact Bond Programme will offer young people in seven local authorities - Birmingham, Croydon, Durham, Leeds, Nottingham, Rochdale and Surrey - an intensive six-month work programme designed to help vulnerable young people break the cycle of re-offending and gain work experience.
The project, supported by the Youth Justice Board, will run as an outcomes contract meaning employment providers are only paid if they successfully keep young people out of the criminal justice system and support them to achieve milestones such as gaining an accredited qualification and further employment over four years.
