The board is funded by the Department for Education and is being delivered by the National Children’s Bureau (NCB).

Two groups of young people with experience of care, aged between 11 to 17 and from 18 to 25, will be involved in the board to add their voices to measures set out in the government’s children’s social care strategy Stable Homes, Built on Love.

According to the NCB the board “will bring together those with lived experience and a passion for changing things for the better at a national level".

It is hoped the first meeting can take place early next year and run until March 2025. The board will stage in person and online meetings.
