Laura-Jayne Rawling believes that too little is being done to reduce youth unemployment, with both government ministers and constituency MPs needing to do more to champion job prospects for young people aged 16 to 24 at a local and national level.
She said: “What I got pig sick of was people talking about it. I was usually the youngest person in the room and I’m not 16 to 24 years old so they’re not usually consulted.
"The reason the right things aren’t being done is because our young people don’t vote. The more young people we can get to do that, the more MPs will start to recognise that young people have a voice and more policies will be designed under the influence of young people, and that’s why we need to be doing this campaign.”
