
Union representatives are now discussing next steps after claiming that the apology from interim director of children's services (DCS) Gladys Rhodes White does not go far enough to redress the affront - published in a local paper.
The comments, reportedly made at a meeting of the Children's Services Scrutiny Committee on 10 April, appeared to suggest that bosses were taking a hard line with social care staff because they had not been honest.
The row was ignited after the Bradford Telegraph & Argus reported comments from Anne Chester-Walsh, interim assistant director of improvement at the council, where the children's services department is rated "inadequate" by Ofsted.
