Award to recognise innovation in the family justice system

1 min read Children's Services
The Children & Young People Now Awards has introduced a new category for 2019, the Family Justice Award, for the initiative that has done the most to help families avoid disputes and resolve problems.

The award has been created to honour the memory of District Judge Nicholas Crichton, who pioneered the creation of family drug and alcohol courts to tackle substance misuse in care proceedings.

Initiatives will be eligible from across the UK in the areas of private law, where parents or carers cannot agree arrangements for their children, as well as public law, where children's services have serious concerns about the welfare of a child.

The Centre for Justice Innovation is sponsoring the Family Justice Award.

Entries to the CYP Now Awards 2019 are open across 24 categories and the deadline to enter is Friday 28 June. The awards will be judged by an expert panel of professionals as well a panel of young people during the summer, with the shortlist of finalists published at the beginning of September.

It is free to enter at www.cypnowawards.com

The winners will be revealed at a glittering Awards ceremony at the Hurlingham Club in London on the evening of 28 November.
