Emily Frith, who takes up the post in October, will be leading a “strategic shift”’ in Adoption UK’s (AUK) aims, by ensuring that the needs of adopted children and adults are “more firmly at the heart of the charity’s work”, a spokesperson from AUK said.

Frith, who brings with her a “rich experience” in children’s mental health, children in care and special educational needs, said: “It’s a really interesting time in the adoption system.
