16-year-old banned from family home

A 16-year-old boy has been given an Asbo banning him from his former family home.

Ben Fay, formerly of Rhodes Crescent, Kirkholt, was given the order by Rochdale Magistrates Court.
Fay was accused of causing harassment, alarm and distress to residents of the estate and of abusing individuals.
He signed an acceptable behaviour contract in 2004 but continued his behaviour.
The Asbo will run until March 2010.
Carol Matthews, chief executive of housing association Guinness Northern Counties which worked with the local authority to bring the action against Fay, said: “As a responsible landlord we are fully prepared to invoke all the legal powers available to us to remove such troublemakers from the communities.”
