After 20 years in fundraising and senior management roles in the health sector, Vanessa Longley was appointed chief executive of children’s social and emotional wellbeing charity Chance UK in October 2023.
Longley joined from children’s mental health charity YoungMinds where she had been director of development for four years. During that time, she delivered a 250% rise in YoungMinds’ income and spent five months as interim chief executive following the departure of Emma Thomas in 2022.
Chance UK specialises in providing mentoring for children aged five to 13 with behavioural and emotional difficulties. It receives referrals from schools, social care and parents and works with local authorities across London.
