Childhood trauma can have a significant and long-lasting impact on a child's development that continues long into their adulthood. It also underscores the importance of adopting a trauma-informed approach right across children's services, from schools to the care system, and of ensuring our approaches do not re-traumatise children, albeit unintentionally, by requiring them to tell their story repeatedly, for example.
