NCVCCO never exactly rolled off the tongue. And despite representing some of the biggest children's charities in England, the umbrella organisation has historically had a fairly low profile.

The new name should also reduce the amount of unwanted mail. The old name was easy to confuse with NCVO, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, so the charities often used to receive one another's post.
