ACTION
When the most harmful conflict cases pass through the family courts, an opportunity is presented to reduce the risk of emotional damage to children.
Cafcass’s Positive co-Parenting Programme (CPPP) is an intervention offered nationally to such families, to reduce conflict and enable them to decide on parenting arrangements that are best for their children.
The theory is that separated parents who argue less will be less likely to burden their children with proceedings that are drawn-out, acrimonious and which re-enter the family court system.
This will also give them the space to listen to their children and build their resilience, in spite of parental separation.
