Careers Interview: Philippa Grace, senior educational psychologist, Education Bradford

1 min read Education Health
Philippa Grace has been a psychologist for 12 years and describes her job as "working creatively and effectively to apply psychology to make a difference in children's lives".

"We show teachers what happens to the brain when kids get into a stressful situation such as being asked to read out loud and their fight or flight instinct takes over. We show them brain scans of children with insecure and secure attachments and how they differ," she explains.

Grace says her project work is driven by her individual case work with children and young people.

"It is really important in helping to identify what we do at a project level. That is also where you really see the impact of what you are doing for kids and parents."
