From there it has spread nationally, and the Football Foundation now manages it. I joined at the beginning when it was just me being a jack of all trades. I had come from a background in marketing and sponsorship at Nationwide and social inclusion with Wandsworth council when this job came up. I played football at a semi-professional level so it's a great job, but there is more to it than that.
The project has grown to involve 39 football clubs and 98 projects. We work in partnership with the clubs and local authorities to deliver the programme, drawing support from Safer Neighbourhood police teams, youth offending teams and youth services.
