
We had a brilliant response from schools across the country. BBC Teach staged a Live Lesson hosted by CBBC presenter Joe Tasker and Blue Peter’s Mwaksy Mudenda. Children were challenged to spot online safety issues with a fictional new computer game, Digital Defence Squad and a little help from famous gamers and cyber savvy celebrities.
But it’s important that we work together towards a better and safer internet every day. So, here are some of our top tips for navigating the use of technology in your school throughout the year.
Introduce a ‘daily digital’. This can be a five-minute conversation with children at the start of the school day once you’ve taken a register or after their lunch break. Begin with a simple question: what have you done that’s fun with technology? It starts a regular dialogue between you and your class so that it becomes normal for children to think about their lives with technology.
