Today, the day of our fringe meeting. It seemed to go by faster than yesterday, simply because we knew more about what to do. Manning the stand and doorstepping had given me an insight into what other people had thought about Kids Count as a youth-led group and what people had thought about police and crime commissioners (PCCs).
It was interesting to hear that not many people had a lot of knowledge on the matter and majority didn't even know who their local PCC is.
Our start time of 12.30 arrived pretty quickly and at a glance the room was full to bursting. It was so good to hear how well Andreea had spoken, as many people had then visited our stand and complimented how good our fringe meeting was.
From interviewing various people it was good to see how many people had also supported our Istandfor campaign. It was also good to find out what others stand for whether it be world peace or education for all.
With this being my first experience at a conference I really unexpectedly enjoyed myself. It was good to see how many people support Kids Count and how many more could support us in the future. Not a bad experience for a first timer.
