Is your Early Years Single Funding Formula still ‘fit for purpose’?

I was heavily involved in the consultations on the creation of my local authority’s Early Years Single Funding Formula (EYSFF).

While disagreeing with the amount the LA allocated to the early years budget out of its Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) to fund the formula – a formula that was set in 2008/9 but due to the postponement of the implementation of these formulas by the previous government did not come into effect until April 2010 unchanged – I accepted that that was all there was at the time and the LA was making promises that any increases in the DSG the private, voluntary and independent sector would get preference.
