Authority
Royal Borough of Greenwich
Funding
The authority used Social Work Improvement Fund cash to launch the scheme and it is now funded out of its workforce development budget at a cost of about £150,000 a year

"We realised the level and type of support needed was over and above what we could reasonably expect frontline managers to provide," he says. The solution was to employ "professional educators" to provide mentoring and coaching, and support professional development.
