
The Life Chances Fund is open to applications for social impact bonds for young people (SIBs). This is an opportunity for the sector to broaden the interventions on offer for vulnerable young people and to test and build the evidence base for innovative models. The fund is accepting proposals on Neet (not in education, employment or training) prevention for young people aged 11-18, and for those aged 16-24 who are already Neet or in low-paid work.
Target group
Identifying those most at risk of becoming Neet has always been tricky, but latest research from Social Finance and Newcastle City Council, in partnership with Impetus-PEF, suggests that young people who are known to social care services make up the bulk of the Neet population later in life.
