The campaign supports parents, carers and professionals to have simple conversations with children that aims to keep them safe from sexual abuse. Over the course of its 10 years, Talk PANTS has helped over 1.5 million parents and carers to begin conversations with their child about how to keep themselves safe.

Talk PANTS makes it easy and accessible for children to learn about these topics, with the campaign mascot, Pantosaurus, singing his catchy song to introduce them to the subject.

The NSPCC’s ultimate aim is to reach every child in the UK with Talk PANTS – so they know that they can speak out to a trusted safe adult if anything happens that makes them feel uncomfortable.

For many parents and carers, the idea of talking to their child about sexual abuse can be frightening and not something they feel able to do. Talk PANTS addresses this, with a range of resources designed to simplify this conversation and help children understand what is and isn’t OK, and how they can speak out if anything happens that worries them.

Continuing these ten years of impactful work, the NSPCC is launching its pan- London PANTS campaign, hosting a panel event to kickstart this exciting new work.

The event panel featured NSPCC’s chief executive, Sir Peter Wanless, London deputy mayor for children and families, Joanne McCartney, assistant director on safeguarding and social care for Haringey Council, Beverley Hendricks and TV presenter, journalist, and campaigner for change around child sexual abuse, Emily Victoria.

The campaign is being rolled out across the county and will run over the next year in at least five boroughs. It will include community fun days, information sessions and stalls in community hubs and libraries to help to reach as many parents, carers and professionals as possible.
