
As one of 10 local authority members of Coram's Innovation Incubator (CII), Gloucestershire County Council strives to develop “radical solutions” to challenges facing the children's social care sector.
Gloucestershire delivered a recent online presentation on how it had developed a new trauma-informed care commissioning strategy following the recommendations of a focused visit from Ofsted in October 2020.
While the inspectorate praised the authority for the positive impact its “astute” commissioning was having on the lives of some children and young people, it said a lack of sufficiency in terms of the range and types of placements available for children in care, was a “significant problem”.
