NYA Update: Diverse funding creates opportunities for councils to access new funding streams

Friday, March 2, 2012

New research has given an insight into the multiple benefits to local authorities in partnering with the private, voluntary and community organisations to provide services to young people.

The Working with the Private, Voluntary and Community Sectors study was undertaken by the National Youth Agency as part of its Routes to Success programme with the Local Government Association, and supported by the Department for Education.

One of the main benefits identified through the study was the enhanced opportunities provided to councils in partnering with different organisations – enabling them to access funding they might not have necessarily been able to access on their own.

The report includes case studies from a number of authorities and recommendations for local authorities wanting to diversify funding.
