NCB Now: Sex education must be taken seriously

Friday, March 2, 2012

Sex and relationships education (SRE) is in danger of being taken less seriously than more traditional subjects, says NCB's new book.

The Sex Education Forum, based at NCB, says the assessment of learning and evaluation of teaching is as vital to developing effective SRE as other subjects, but is concerned this area is underdeveloped.

The forum has updated the book Assessment, Evaluation and Sex and Relationships Education, and this second edition gives practitioners advice on how assessment and evaluation can be used in SRE, and offers activities to use with children and young people.
