NCB Now: Preparing for Adulthood launches

Friday, February 17, 2012

The Preparing for Adulthood programme (PfA), based at NCB, is a new two-year programme funded by the Department for Education as part of the delivery support for the Support and Aspiration: a New Approach to Special Educational Needs and Disability green paper.

PfA’s vision is that young people with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities have equal life chances as they move into adulthood. These include paid employment; independent living; choice and control; community inclusion; friends and relationships.

PfA will provide support to pathfinders that are testing out the proposals in the green paper as well as giving wider support and information to all local authorities and their partners, including families and young people, in England.
